AnnaAmetller_3_web.jpg

The work of Anna Ametller moves between the languages of drawing, sculpture, and installation, exploring the boundaries between them.
Her creations invite the viewer to enter a universe of nature, freedom, and poetry, and to reconnect with the latent emotions of our own Being.
Her creative process is rooted in play, intuition, and attentive listening to the material, allowing the works to emerge naturally.
She uses a variety of materials —many of them found— and combines graphic and plastic expressions that dialogue with one another, generating atmospheres that evoke the organic and the spiritual.
Inspired by nature, metaphysics, and creative improvisation, her practice seeks to foster immersive experiences that connect with emotion, presence, and the beauty of the ephemeral: the very experience of living.

<< I enjoy and am interested in experimenting with materials, much like a musician plays with different instruments, gadgets, and the sounds they can produce, exploring their limits and the way they interact with one another. This is why I am fascinated by using found materials, in which time has left its mark, or any material that, in some way, conveys a special emotion. The choice of one over another depends on the emotion (the soul) that the work or project seeks to express.>

BIOGRAFÍA

Born in Barcelona in 1982, Anna Ametller holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, specializing in drawing. During her studies, she collaborated on sculptural projects for spaces alongside artists Jaime de Córdoba Benedicto and Jordi Colldevila, as well as assisting in the execution of Antonio López’s sculptures for Atocha Station in Madrid.

In 2004, she received an Erasmus scholarship at Nottingham Trent University (UK), where she presented her project “Perceptions”, an investigation into the multiplicity of viewpoints and narratives generated through different graphic expressions.

Since 2009, she has lived in the Balearic Islands, first in Formentera —where she has exhibited on several occasions and has work in private collections— and since 2023 in Mallorca, where she continues developing sculptural projects, immersive installations, and personal work connected to nature and the poetic experience of space.
